Calypso36°21

Created in Rabat in 2018, Calypso36°21 is a women-led, French Morococan collective founded by Zoé Le Voyer, Justine Daquin, Manon Bachelier and Sanaa Zaghoud.

Since its creation, the collective develops a curatorial, transdisciplinary, experimental and participative approach, allowing its members to act as curators, but also as researchers, producers and authors of original works within Out.of.the.blue.map. An itinerant research curatorial program imagined and produced by the collective, Out.of.the.blue.map took place from 2019 to 2021.

The collective is named after the coordinates of Calypso Deep, the deepest point of the Mediterranean Sea, located in the Hellenic Trench in the Ionian Sea, 62.6 km south-west of Pylos in Greece. Calypso Deep maximum depth is 5 267 meters (16 770 ft). Its complete coordinates are 36°34′N 21°8′E.
