Still with the willingness of linking its curatorial approach to mediation, artistic programming and the development of collaborations with local associations, Calypso36°21 collaborated with the Marseille based association Aflam to develop a pedagogic project. On 9 October 2020, the collective organised an image education workshop with Aflam and the artist Randa Maroufi around her short film Bab Sebta. The aim was to get the students to work on film editing, to organise a meeting between the film’s director and the students, and to initiate an exchange around the various aspects of the making of Bab Sebta.

By associating an artist, an association and a teacher of Arabic language to this project, the idea was to detach a specific work from the program in order to dissect and explain it, and to allow a young audience to get to know its codes and techniques. This was an opportunity for the collective to extend and strengthen its collaboration with Randa Maroufi beyond the exhibition.
