In the summer of 2020, the collective Calypso36°21 took part in the project: It begins with one word. Choose your own conceived by Katarzyna Krakowiak and presented at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion under the direction of Marcin Szczelina (Architecture Snob) and Ivan Blasi (Fundació Mies van der Rohe). The project was organised in cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, and was supported by the Instituto Polaco de Cultura in Madrid.

This polyphonic contributory work aims to compose a contributory work within the Barcelona Pavilion that explores the relationship between architecture and language. Calypso 36°21 participated in this composition with the word “liminality”, a notion at the core of the collective’s work, and at the core Out.of.the.blue.map.
