On drifting is a participatory lexicon imagined and produced by collective Calypso36°21 from 2018 to 2021, as part of the curatorial research programme Out.of.the.blue.map. This book brings together contributions proposed by a multitude of humans whose work summons, explores and questions the liminal dimension of Mediterranean borderscapes. Poets, lawyers, navigators, activists, artists, architects, researchers, writers, philosophers, political scientists have been collaborating with Calypso36°21 since 2018 to create this edition.

Conceived as an alternative cartography of the [fluid+solid] Mediterranean borderscapes, On drifting aims to disrupt the spatial regimes, often derived from (post-)colonial narratives. The lexicon is read from shore to shore.

The first edition of the lexicon, published in October, was designed to be exhibited. Its copies were hung in the space of the two exhibitions organized by Calypso36°21 in Marseille and in Tangiers. This edition is not on sale.
